Spooky Movie and TV Recs for Halloween

These are some spooky TV shows and movies that I really like to watch to get ready for Halloween. So, I hope you can find something to watch to get into the Halloween spirit too!

TV Shows

The Haunting of Hill House

This show is loosely based on the Shirley Jackson novel of the same name. It is so good, even if you don’t normally like scary shows. I really love it, and there is a new season coming out this October and I am so excited!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

This show is very silly but very Halloween-y. It’s cheesy as hell, but I really enjoyed it and I’d recommend it if you want to get into the mood for fall. If nothing else you will get so many fall inspired outfit ideas from this show!

Salem

If you are more into a dark and spooky Halloween mood this show is for you! It is so well made and so ominous, it’s really wonderful.

Movies

Ouija: Origin of Evil

There are a lot of movies that revolve around Ouija boards or feature them heavily. This series is the first I have watched that is actually really well done, it’s a solid movie and great for Halloween. If you enjoy cheesy B movies there are also at least 2 other films with Ouija as the title that are very fun to watch with friends!

It follows

If you want to be seriously scared watch this movie. It is incredibly anxiety induoducing, but also has a really interesting world and atmosphere, as the title may suggest this movie will stick with you.

Trick ‘r Treat

This movie is the perfect movie for the season, it just bleeds Halloween. It has also made me want to do entirely pumpkin themed Halloween decor.

Ghost Stories

Finally, it wouldn’t be Halloween without some ghost stories. This movie is mind bending and very scary.
