My bookshelves are always a mess. As an actual librarianship student, I am slightly ashamed of how messy my bookshelf is. But, every couple of days I like to stock up on pictures for my bookstagram and blog, and as a result my books are more often then not piled on top of the bookshelf haphazardly.
If anyone has dealt with this issue I’d love to hear about it!
Please let me know if you think this series is a good idea! Also, I’d love to hear some of your stories about the dangers of book blogging!
Have a lovely day!
My bookshelves are a mess. I’m constantly stacking and grabbing books or placing random things there. When I try to clean them I get distracted, so they are forever messy.

Embrace the mess! Maybe your brand of shelf organization is what others would call messy. Mine is. My books are separated into categories that make sense to me, and they’re fit in any way they can and that I find pleasing.

I tend towards personal categories as well, its just I often make precarious piles ontop of the shelves as well lol!

Whenever I’m unhappy or my life got messed up, I like to organize my books it’s somewhat makes me feel relieved truly.

Reading mostly eBooks solves that problem. Now I only have cluttered bits and bytes.

I’ve just started bookstagramming on a nearly daily basis AND I’m about to make my book blog live so I feel you and this problem is too real. I’m going to start studying towards a librarianship degree on Sept 2019 and part of me vaguely hopes I will use that as an excuse to organise and catalogue my books, but the reality probably is that I need to embrace the haphazardness of my shelves at home.

Oh yes, I struggle with this too! I’m a librarian as well and it bothers me so much that my books aren’t in any kind of discernible order. With such limited space all I can do is organize by size…

I’m glad I’m not alone! My shelves are also by size but only near the bottom as they move towards a more random stacking order the closer to the top lol!

I used to volunteer at the local public library. My bookshelves are in alphabetical order, by author, and periodically I dust the shelves. It makes it SO much easier when I wonder if I’ve already ordered a certain book, to be able to look and see, instead of guessing.

I rarely keep books once read. I usually give them to a friend and ask them to pass them on once finished too. My shelf problem is teaching resources which should be in boxes but often sit in piles on top of their boxes.

That’s a lovely way to avoid this problem for the most part!

Wait… what is this Book Shelf you speak of… Mine are currently labeled with sticky notes and laid out across a couch, love seat, coffee table, and desk….lol. If only I had a book shelf… then I would have even more room for books… mwahahahah!

I understand this so well! I only got a bookshelf a month or two ago, and before that all my books were scattered in boxes!
